When I first saw these erasable pens, a light bulb went off in my brain. What was I doing all this time! It is now my go-to marking tool. Though the not the most perfect one, because of one reason which I will explain shortly.
Do you know why this pen is called erasable – because the ink vanishes right in front of your eyes when you apply heat on it, just like that. I think it should be called a magic pen.

Check out the video to know how easy it is to use it:
It can be used in embroidery as well as tailoring, and for any work you do on fabric. No more smudged marks on fabric from chalk lines, or thick lines, as well. You can use these pens to trace embroidery patterns or mark hemlines directly onto the cloth.
The gel ink flows well on cotton, linen, and most synthetic blends.
But — yes, the but in it is that the gel is still there ; it just becomes transparent when you apply heat. If the fabric gets very cold (below 0°C or 32°F), the lines might reappear. If you are gifting a quilt or garment to someone in a cold climate, keep this in mind!
I would advice you to test the pen first on a scrap first: or on a small, hidden piece of the same fabric. Some dark or chemically treated fabrics can react with the ink. I have read that it can leaving a “ghost” line (a faint white or yellowish shadow) even after the color is gone. That will be disastrous.

How to erase the marks made by the pen
I use the iron over the marks. You do not even have to touch the iron on the marks for it to disappear. Just hover the warm iron over the marks (if you want to correct a mistake) or over the finished work, and the marks will be gone just like that.

The advantage of not having to touch the iron to the fabric is that you can use it over fabrics that should not be ironed like a beaded or sequined fabric. You can also use a hair dryer to blow hot air over the marks. A clothes steamer can also be used.
I would avoid using this pen on silks and leathers. The chemicals in the ink may sometimes leave permanent marks on these costly materials. I would stick to using it on sturdier craft fabrics which are expendable.
