9 reasons why I bought Singer Heavy Duty 4423 sewing machine

Updated on

I bought my Singer Heavy Duty 4423 because I had read a lot about its durability and speed and above all its ability to sew heavy duty materials. Here are its key features that I found on its brochure, and found all of them to be true.

  1. High-Speed Sewing (1,100 Stitches per minute)
This means that you can complete projects faster, especially when sewing long seams or working on bulk orders. Remember that basic home sewing machines sew 600 – 800 Stitches per minute. If you work with denim, canvas, or upholstery, a 1,100+ SPM heavy-duty machine can be a good buy. It doesnot have the power of industrial machines – which run +1500 but think of the cost.
  2. Powerful Motor (60% Stronger than Standard Machines)
This means that it can easily stitch through thick fabrics like denim, canvas, and leather without skipping stitches or struggling.
  3. 23 Built-In Stitches
This machine provides versatility for different sewing needs, including basic, stretch, decorative, and a one-step buttonhole stitch. This is comparable to any other good quality sewing machine
  4. Automatic Needle Threader
This is convenient if you have trouble threading a needle. You save time and effort, reducing eye strain when threading the needle.
  5. Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure
Allows smooth sewing on various fabric thicknesses, from lightweight to heavy materials.
  6. Heavy-Duty Metal Frame
This is supposed to increase the machine stability and longevity, ensuring less vibration and better stitch quality.
  7. Drop-In Bobbin with Transparent Cover
This makes it easy to insert the bobbin and monitor the thread supply without interrupting your work.
  8. Free Arm for sewing sleeves and cuffs
Nowadays most machines have it and this makes it easier to sew tubular items like pant hems, cuffs, and collars.
  9. Extra-High Presser Foot Lift
This ability to lift the presser foot high, accommodates thick fabrics and multiple layers, so you can sew quilting and upholstery projects without hassle.
